After a long summer, we’ll see meaningful hockey featuring NHL players today for the first time in three months. (Assuming you find the World Cup of Hockey to be meaningful). The first two games of the group play round will take place today, with two more games every following day through Thursday.
Team United States vs. Team Europe: 3:30 p.m. ET
Where to watch: ESPN2, WatchESPN
Where are the Flyers: None on Team USA. Team Europe will have both Mark Streit and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare taking the ice.
Team Czech Republic vs. Team Canada: 8:00 p.m. ET
Where to watch: ESPNNews, WatchESPN
Where are the Flyers: Claude Giroux will be a scratch for Team Canada, so screw them. Team Czech Republic will feature Jakub Voracek and starting goaltender Michal Neuvirth, so you know who the good guys are here.
