World Cup Of Hockey, Day 2: Game time, how to watch, and discussion thread

The World Cup of Hockey officially began yesterday, with the four teams in Group A getting their first action of group play in. Today, it’s the four teams in Group B that will get their chance to make a good first impression and take a step towards the elimination round.

Yesterday’s Results:

  • Team USA opened up the tournament by getting embarrassed 3-0 at the hands of Team Europe. Their only paths to the elimination round now probably require them to either beat Canada or get the benefit of a tiebreaker. And hey Pierre-Edouard Bellemare scored a goal!
  • Team Canada easily beat Team Czech Republic in the night game by a count of 6-0. The Czech team actually held its own for much of the first period, but there’s simply too much firepower on that Canadian team for them to hang. Pour one out for Michal Neuvirth, who gave up six goals and still made 44 more saves./
