The new suites will have new carpeting in the seating area, the addition of porcelain tile in the lounge area, new high-back leather seats in the seating bowl, new furniture, fancy lighting and all new finishes.
Comcast-Spectacor says that this will be “Phase 1” of renovations to the building. As we told you late in 2014, the WFC will be undergoing a series of renovations to bring it up to standards around the NHL and NBA. The Wells Fargo Center is a building that has aged pretty well in it’s 20 years of existence, but it’s also clear that it’s below the standard by some of the newer buildings in the league — look at places like Prudential Center in Newark or Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

Philly.com notes that the construction on many of these upgrades won’t begin until after the Democratic National Convention in the building in July, but that they should be ready for the new season.
