Can’t you guys just, like, be good?

The Philadelphia Flyers let us down again.

It’s an afternoon game in November, so let’s not lose sight of the big picture, but come on. Coming into the third with a 1-0 lead, and then getting the advantage back with under four minutes to play at home, against a Calgary Flames squad that had been 0-5-1 in its previous six games, losing in a shootout is failure.

Jakub Voracek scored the 200th goal of his career, ending a 12-game goal drought, and Kevin Hayes netted his second in as many nights after his own lengthy scoreless streak, but that was all the offense Philly could mount against David Rittich (36 saves), and a Calgary team that erased a pair of deficits in the third and held on through overtime to earn two points in the skills competition.

The game just really sucked, honestly. Most people can see the Flyers are playing better than their recent results, but they’re playing poorly enough in stretches to earn the results they have.

After dominating the Flames in the middle period, outshooting them 18-3, the Flyers allowed Calgary to hang around and eventually tie the game a minute into the third. Hayes gave the orange and black the lead back late, but Elais Lindholm came through with his team’s net empty to force OT.

This one was just freaking frustrating, and I think that comes through in the postgame. Listen to it.
